Course Admissions

Australia is a global leader in education and offers many undergraduate and postgraduate courses of study at universities, secondary schools, English language and private colleges and vocational education institutes. All higher education in Australia is regulated by government legislation, and this helps them to maintain consistently high standards of quality.

English language courses

English language courses in Australia are modeled on those in the UK, and are delivered through group work and projects that lay an emphasis on critical thinking and practical everyday skills, rather than just theoretical knowledge.

Popular English courses include General English, English for Academic Purposes and Exam Preparation. Students can also combine study with a vacation and can opt to combine General English courses with a variety of cultural activities.

Undergraduate options

Students who are not qualified to get admission into a Bachelors course can undertake a Foundation pathway, where they can develop effective study skills and learn English. Such Foundation courses fill in any skill gaps, and are usually centered on specific subjects, optional modules and language support.

Bachelors degree programs generally take three years to complete. Students can enroll in a double or combined Bachelor degree program where they can dedicate their time to two major subjects of study.

Postgraduate options

Students who do not have the prerequisites to enter a Masters course can undertake a Pre-Masters course for a year. This is also called a qualifying year.

Masters degrees generally take 1-2 years to complete. They can be research based or course ware based. International students opting for a Bachelors degree or a postgraduate taught degree have to obtain a subclass 573 student visa. Postgraduate research courses require a subclass 574 student visa. Before applying for these, you should have received a confirmed seat at a university and paid your tuition fee deposit.
